The whole industry single-board computers of the TS3 family is equipped with the Linux OS (kernel 2.4.4 sit3-shine.7). The kernel is always compiled based on target hardware. All standard drivers are available (i.e. IDE, Ethernet, serial port, graphical console support,...). Of course, all standard network protocols (TCP, UDP, IP, IGMP, ICMP, DHCP, ARP, ...) are fully supported. IPTABLES firewall is integrated in the kernel to assure highest possible safety when the station is connected to a network or to the Internet.

Many different libraries and applications are bundled with the OS to ease administering of the system and to allow software development.
